Beautiful quilts are being offered in a Unity Chapel of Light monthly quilt raffle. The first quilt "Soaring High" made by Women of Unity is on display in the lobby. Chances to win this quilt -- $5 for one chance; 5 for $20-- can be obtained in the bookstore. The drawing for the winner of this quilt will be held on Sunday, May 25 at 1 PM.

Well, spring has finally sprung!

Well, spring has finally sprung!

Special thank you to “Leppo” who is donating a Bobcat and rockhound on Friday the 16^th and we have a volunteer who will come out and prepare the area for seeding on the 17^th. So the hard part will already be done.   We need donations of grass seed and straw.  Please come out and bring rakes.  Starts at 7:00 a.m., with enough help, we hope to be finished by noon and lunch will be served for all who participated.  Also a good opportunity for youth to get community service hours for school/scholarships – so bring willing teenagers.  Bring your family, Bring your friends, Bring your rakes and other garden tools too. We’ll have a beautiful gazebo area surrounded by lush green grass just in time for church picnics, summer weddings, and drum circles!

Now is our opportunity to upgrade the lawn at Unity Chapel of Light.

Think May 31st as the date to have your closets, basement, garage and attic free of all the stuff you’ve been promising yourself you’d get rid of for years.

Think clutter free. Think Unity Rummage Sale

Please help make Unity’s Biggest Fundraiser to date a resounding success by recycling your unwanted treasures.

As this is a very labor intensive event we would appreciate your help by pricing items (wherever possible) and delivering them in sturdy cardboard boxes for ease of handling and storage.

This is also an opportunity to get rid of your surplus plastic and paper grocery bags and coat hangers.

Unity will be open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Wednesday May 28^th, Thursday May 29^th and Friday May 30^th to receive your unwanted gifts of clean clothing, books, and cared for miscellaneous household items.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

This really is a fun event. An opportunity to make new friends, to find bargains AND support your favorite church.

We need help:

Sorting stuff on Wednesday/Thursday and Friday (as many people as possible)

Processing sales -- people to operate cash boxes.

Customer service -- people to help attendees, to tidy, fluff and generally keep things running smoothly and looking good.

Saturday set up (7a.m.) and clean up (after 4 p.m.)

We need strong men (and women) to tote, slep and generally move stuff in and out of position on the day.

Cleaners -- helpers to make Our Church sparkle or at least look habitable for Sunday service. Bring your feather duster and vacuum cleaner, please.

Transportation Assistance Requests

Janeen Sanko is volunteering her time in the office Monday through Thursday from 11:30 to 4:00 p.m. Thanks to Janeen, we are now able to have the office staffed from 9:00 until 4:00.

Since she doesn't drive, Janeen needs a ride home. She lives on Kent Road in Stow, and in a couple of months, she will be moving to Ellet. If you are able to offer her a ride home once a week or more, please contact Janeen at the church office or email her at unityvolunteer@sbcglobal.net. Thank you!

Unity Chapel has a member living in downtown Hartville and has no car. Would love to come to either service on Sundays. If you can assist, please let your church office know. Thank You!

Upon request, this class is being offered again. We will be looking at what shamanism is & its roots. We will discuss its basic assumptions, sources of power, & rituals. The definition of health, illness & healing will be learned and what causes them. We will be learning what “ordinary” & “non-ordinary” reality are and much more. We will journey into “non-ordinary” reality to meet with a power animal.

Reiki Advanced & Masters Class

When: 3 Saturdays, June 7, 14 & 21 from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Cost: $460 (checks made out to Unity Chapel of Light)

Materials Provided: ART & Masters manual and handouts

(If you took Reiki I & II with me, please bring your folder.)

Come and learn deeper meanings for the chakras and aura and to remove negative energy from them, where emotions are held in the body, relate the 12 Powers of Man with Reiki, strengthen the Reiki energy that flows through you, use drumming with Reiki and much more. After this class, you will be able to teach Reiki and/or use the added knowledge to benefit yourself and your clients. There will be plenty of time for practice and experience.

Bring to the Class: (1) a picture of yourself; (2) 6 small, single point quartz crystals--1 inch to 3 inches in length;  (3) 1 large single point quartz crystal--3  inch to 5 inches; (4) 1 single, double, or cluster of quartz crystal, rose quartz, citrine or amethyst--a pyramid or ball of these is also fine. (5) lunch, drink and snack(s) (6) a bed pillow and a blanket.

Refresher Class for Compassionate Listening

Taught by Susan Wilk, High Watch Director

This class is for those who have taken the Compassionate Listening class and wish to review and sharpen their skills.

This class is also required for those who took Compassionate Listening and did not feel ready to join the High Watch team but wish to now and for those who wish to rejoin the High Watch team.

Present High Watch volunteers are more than welcome to join us!

Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes healing. The word Reiki (ray-key) means life energy guided by Higher-Consciousness.

            The class will attune you to the Reiki energy, introduce you to the chakras and aura, will provide lots of hands on experience and much more.
